AIShelf

Terms of Service

Last updated: March 2026

By accessing or using AIShelf, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and AIShelf.

Description of Service

AIShelf is an IDE extension and platform that enables developers to connect to AI resource registries hosted on GitHub, install and manage AI resources, create and publish packages, and collaborate on AI resources within development teams.

The Service includes:

  • IDE extension (VS Code, Cursor, and compatible editors)
  • Backend API services
  • Web application (aishelf.dev)
  • Documentation and support resources

License and Restrictions

The Extension is proprietary software licensed under our Software License Agreement. Key terms include:

  • You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Extension for personal or internal business purposes
  • You may not modify, reverse engineer, or redistribute the Extension
  • You may not use the Extension for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms

3. User Responsibilities

When using AIShelf, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate information when authenticating with GitHub
  • Maintain the security of your GitHub account and credentials
  • Comply with GitHub's Terms of Service and acceptable use policies
  • Not use the Extension to access repositories you don't have permission to access
  • Not attempt to circumvent any security features or access restrictions

4. Registry Ownership and Control

AIShelf connects to GitHub repositories that you own or have access to. Important clarifications:

  • You retain full ownership of all content in your registries
  • AIShelf does not claim any rights to your workflows, rules, prompts, or skills
  • You are responsible for managing access control to your registries through GitHub
  • You are responsible for the content you create, upload, or share through registries

5. Repository Access Model

AIShelf operates with a read-focused approach when connecting to your GitHub repositories:

Automatic Operations (Read-Only)

  • Clone: AIShelf creates a local copy of connected registries on your machine
  • Pull: Syncs the latest changes from GitHub to your local copy
  • Read: Displays registry content in your IDE for viewing and use

User-Initiated Operations Only

  • AIShelf only writes to repositories when you explicitly request it (e.g., creating a new registry or publishing changes)
  • No automatic modifications, deletions, or pushes to your connected repositories
  • All changes are reviewed by you before being published to GitHub

Your Responsibilities

  • You are responsible for managing your GitHub repositories and their access controls
  • We recommend maintaining regular backups of your repositories as a best practice
  • You should review all changes before publishing them to your repositories

All registry operations are performed locally on your machine. AIShelf does not automatically push changes to your GitHub repositories. You maintain full control over what gets published to GitHub.

6. Prohibited Uses

You may not use AIShelf to:

  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations
  • Infringe on intellectual property rights of others
  • Distribute malware, viruses, or harmful code
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' registries or accounts
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Extension's functionality
  • Use the Extension for any commercial redistribution without explicit permission

7. Service Availability

AIShelf is provided "as is" without guarantees of availability or uptime. We reserve the right to:

  • Modify or discontinue the Extension at any time
  • Update features, functionality, or system requirements
  • Perform maintenance that may temporarily affect availability

Since AIShelf operates without central servers, service availability primarily depends on GitHub's API and your local environment.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE EXTENSION AND WEBSITE ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE EXTENSION WILL BE ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR UNINTERRUPTED.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, AISHELF SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE EXTENSION OR WEBSITE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless AIShelf and its affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

  • Your use of the Extension or Website
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any rights of another party
  • Content you create, upload, or share through registries

11. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to the Extension or Website at any time, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, third parties, or us. You may terminate your use of the Extension at any time by uninstalling it.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify users of material changes through the Extension's changelog or release notes. Your continued use of AIShelf after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to conflict of law provisions.

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of AIShelf shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with Indian law, except where prohibited by law.

14. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, Refund Policy, and Software License, constitute the entire agreement between you and AIShelf regarding your use of the Extension and Website.
